A local Chinese GPU maker called Innosilicon has introduced its Fantasy 2 GPUs, which have a basic and low-power architecture. However, it appears that the company has also completed creating its Fantasy 3 GPU, the following generation.
The GPU for Innosilicon Fantasy 2 is slated to be one of their newest upgrades. The Fantasy 2 GPU is compatible with all contemporary devices, including PCs, laptops, and AI computing. During the press conference that was conducted after the Fantasy 2 GPU launch, the company declared that research and development on its Fantasy 3 graphics processors had already been completed. Some of its key selling points will be the Fantasy 3 GPUs' higher-end options and ray tracing capabilities.
Around 4-5 years after the first consumer ray tracing graphics cards were released on the market, sources claim that Chinese consumers would have access to products that supply the same technology developed by their companies. Ray Tracing is a very demanding feature for GPUs, thus Innosilicon plans to develop both dedicated low-power variants as well as a full-fledged high-end lineup.
Innosilicon also plans to introduce its first optical tracking technology using a 5nm process by 2022. Additionally, it seems that the company wants to promote Fantasy GPUs globally and not just make them available to Chinese users.
